I agree with some others - Keith Richard , Ron Wood are fantastic but Mick Taylor is the best guitarist the Stones ever had. love it....

It's certainly not Taylor at his best, but Keith would not even be capable of imitating Mick that well. Listen to the vibrato. End of story.

Metamorphosis is a great album. Love the Memo from Turner on this record. Mick's solo here is stunning but Can't you hear me knocking is the best. imo

You're way off if you think that's Richards soloing. Not even close. Doesn't even sound like Richards.

This is Mick T.. no doubt. The vibrato Keith could not have done.

It is a crime Jiving Sister Fanny wasn't released when it was recorded.

Gave it a second listen. Good insights you have but I would still say that it is Keith. My guess is Mick had rubbed off on Keith and Keith was trying to mimic Taylor. Either that or Keith told Taylor to "dummy down" on the solo too sound more like him.

It doesn't have the instantly recognizable buttery smooth Taylor sound, but I think there are a few giveaways... at :58 there's his prebend lick, and his vibrato at 1:15 and 1:33. 1:45 onward is classic Taylor phrasing. That little slide lick at 1:06-1:07, too. Lots of precision-perfect prebends and releases throughout the solo, and too few double stops for Keith. Check the liner notes, too. I think this was recorded during the sessions for Let it Bleed. Listening to the Stones is awesome!

Sway is by far his best solo, if not best ever! I like it far better than the stairways of heaven from Jimmy

I agree too, it's a rhythmtic stacatto Keef type lick instead of a singing more sustained MT....

Stones should perform Jiving Sister Fanny live - It would be nice to see the Stones include this along with Midnight Rambler for Mick T - also one of my favorites was I DON'T KNOW WHY aka I DON'T KNOW WHY I LOVE YOU - the tremolo kicks ass!

Agree with you. Not likely this is Taylor. Listen to the note timing, every note on a beat. Taylor could weave. This is Keith mostly - probably the whole lead.
