Great job. A good length, too. It really is helpful to see someone picking it up and using it. Also, I'd like to register my absolute astonishment that I just read 12 pleasant, on topic, basically constructive youtube comments in a row.

    3D letters are fun imo.

yes because 3D on a book reading device makes a ton of sense.

Hi People. I apologize for posting this. I know this comment is not related to this video, but our company is going under (incl all my saving -> then my credit score) and this is my desperate last resort to promote our iphone app. it's called "FS Viewer" and "Analyst Rating Tracker". u'd be really helping out a bunch of imminent jobless people.. thanks.

I like this option. This is for someone who wants a basic reader without all the bells and whistles. Something to consider.

I'm really surprised Tom doesn't choose English (United Kingdom), what with his penchant for adding "U" where it doesn't belong and saying "zed."

    No 3D? I'm disappointed.

Thanks, Tom! The lack of a physical or on-screen touch keyboard just convinced me that the touch or "classic" Kindle models are really the way to go. Even though I only occasionally use the notes and other features that require a keyboard, the slight price premium is well worth it to me.

I think I might finally start getting into the e-reader group now. Thanks Tom!

They're $109 in Thailand, but it's the only one that can ship internationally - except the old wifi with the silly keyboard. I think I'll hold out for the touch - or the fire - whichever one hits Bangkok first. Great video. I thought you were a muffler mechanic until I saw your shirt was a fake - geek! nice... anyway, keep it up. Cheers.

Do more of these little unboxings/quick looks! I really enjoyed it! About the device - the OS doesn't look any faster at ALL compared to the second gen Kindle... I'm glad I saw that here because I was wondering if I should "upgrade" but I think I am 100% happy with my black Kindle 2nd gen now, with keyboard. Thanks, Tom!

Wow, that's pretty sexy. I'm in the market for a new e-reader (I'm still using the Sony PRS-505 from 2007), but I wish I wish Sony could get something down to this price point. I've gotten to really prefer Sony's software to anything else's, thanks to the support for epub and the absolutely superior pdf rendering.
