I'm sorry. Maybe a hollywood film I think if you ask the composer what he thought of this he would tell you it is beautifully performed but definitely not a tune he would want to be remembered for. Its a bit spiritual, bit Polynesian, bit Enya, just bits that when put together make a nice metallic Ker-ching in the composers pocket. Its a well used concoction thats very nice. But candy floss is also nice. Like a cartoon. Throw a big orchestra at a piece of music and anything sounds 'nice'.

I cant find anywhere to comment on your channel but wanted to say I think its terrific. My comment about the music was not aimed at you. I dont know a lot about YT FB or twitter so commented here.

And the music belongs in a 2nd rate cartoon? You need help!

Oh God, religion raises its fetid head over another video. Completely off topic I know but I would like to put my views about this film. Its not exciting or worthy of any remark whatsoever. It is bland safe pap and as an aircraft lover (yes I know brethren, completely off topic) about as uninspiring as could be. Does anyone agree or am I alone in thinking this is pretty rubbish? And the music belongs in a 2nd rate cartoon I guess we now live in a 2D cloud-facebook phony world. Just my opinion

I don't understand one bit of this. I meant that a discussion about the manipulative aspects of religions is a bit off topic here. You can fill complete books about that. This song is not about religions, is it? It's a kind of general spiritual hymn about raising the spirit, if I understand it correctly. It may suit the idea of flying in general, but to serve as a commercial for bombers seems rather strange to me. Sorry if you feel offended, but I don't have problems with friends dropping me.

if religion is off-topic,why did you bring it up? Now I know why friends drop you with your accusations and assumptions. Good-bye Door

The focus of this video is the grace and beauty of powered flight, at least for those that can appreciate such things. Not sure what your objective is pointing out the obvious that our world also requires militarys. Should we boycott companies like Airbus, Boeing, Fokker because of their dual customer base? Should we not travel by jet to see family? Not support relief missions with freighters? One shouldn't paint with such a broad brush, not everything is so easily compartmentalized.

This is a cover by Giorgia Fumanti, but the music is composed by Thomas Otten (listen to his version watch?v=bL4_N33_CyY). I don't know who made most profit by the sale of this music. Obviously it serves a big advertisement now for the industry of aircraft. A sauce of sacredness can come in handy now and then in certain businesses...

Hi Larry. You missed the military planes in the video? Look again. I also have to correct your 'innocent' image of Boeing here. The US manufacturing of heavy bombers was already in ful speed in the early 1930's. In my view it's important the public gets more information about the close entanglement of civil aircraft and the military industrial complex. You will also know how politicians today are largely ruled by the money which supports them. In the US the weaponindustry has huge influence.

And about Al-Qaeda: I will never defend any militant group, but a fact is that Al-Qaeda was partly created and funded by the US as well, when they came in handy to fight back the Russians earlier on in Afghanistan. Most wars are largely a matter of gaining power over certain territory, in order to get access to the riches they contain or to the strategic position they offer. That's not a big secret, but governments usually present another (usually heroic) story to the public.
  16. 3DDoor, at 09/08/2012 20:14, says:
Hi Laela. You seem to react rather defensive. You're not dating a Boeing employee, are you? Ha, ha. I was only surpised to see you being so enthusiastic about this corporation and thought you were not aware of the fact they are a huge weapon manufacturor. Not only defensive stuff, but huge amounts of offensive and destructive material. That's why I added the information, I think people need to know this. Religions are very manipulative as well, I totally agree, but that's a bit off topic here.
  17. ralphyboy25, at 09/08/2012 14:40, says:
This video is purely focused on flight, and in a non-military application. You improperly characterized it as a "neat cover", given that Boeing's core roots are in commercial aircraft. Events like the Nazi army invading and overwhelming Holland early in WW2, drove Boeing to produce military warfighters.Yes all the manufacturers Airbus, Boeing and Fokker produce goods for both the civilian and military markets, your ire should be directed at the global leaders that create the wars, not the tools.

I merely wonder how much money Giorgia Fumanti received for the use of this music. It seems to me she is a lady who may be using her heart, but is not using her head. A very dubious sale in my opinion.

Hi Laela. Just visited your channel and saw your comment here, showing your enthusiasm about the firm Boeing. I understand your love for flying, but I really have a problem with this, because Boeing is (beside the neat cover of civilian aircraft) one of the biggest producers of warfare, responsible for many killings, and only expanding it. I don't know about LG, maybe they deliver electronics. Anyway, when warcraft starts using a spiritual hymn all alarmbells should ring!! It's a very old trick.

I am forever grateful to Boeing for using this song on "History of Flight" and thus allowing to me discover it...so incredible!!!! and so fitting for these machines!!!
