Dogs aren't in the wild anymore because humans have domesticated most breeds and the others have been killed off like nearly every other predatory animal we have found ourselves near. You cannot say that cats are more intelligent because there are more in the wild. If a Lion from Africa found itself in arctic conditions and fighting a pack of wolves it would certainly lose.
