I didn't assume that. It was scientifically proven. The T-rex normally protects her young like some parents do, but being a reptile, there was no known reason for her to. Until the people far more clever than I figured out the reason why. The T-rex protects her young, but only for her own needs. A lot of young are usually created making one or two unneeded, so it balances itself because she usually would only eat the weak who can't run away and hide.

Why would you assume that? The need of any parent of any kind is firstly to protect it because it furthers the species. Some parents eat their young but it is usually due to the stress of those who would get there first. The whole idea of having babies is to keep the species going after the adults die.
