The Geeks here are back with another benchmark test. In this battle we put the Samsung Fascinate up against the Samsung Epic. From what we noticed in the benchmark video for the Fascinate vs the Droid X, the Fascinate did not yield the same numbers as the Epic did when we ran prior benchmarks. We put the Fascinate up against the Epic to confirm our observations. Both phones are identical internally, save for internal memory. The Samsung Fascinate has 2gb of internal ROM, with an expandable micro sd slot. The Samsung Epic has 512 MB of internal ROM and also has an expandable micro sd slot.

What we noticed is that the Epic yielded slightly more megaflops in Linkpack, and yielded a better Quadrant standard score. The Fascinate seemed to suffer when it ran the read/.write test in quadrant standard, whereas the Epic handled it with no problems. The FPS output was identical.

Samsung Fascinate accessories and Samsung Epic cases and more are availible at Accessory Geeks with free shipping in the US and Canada!

In all honesty they don't prove anything, there is so many factors to take into account on all this, for one, neither phone was on a fresh reboot, that makes some difference, then theres the backround apps and or widgets that make one phone run slower over another. Really all benchmarks are is just number crunching, none of these newer phones are really any better than another, my droid x is just as good as the d2 the inc, any galaxy s phone, iphone, its just a matter of preference.

1200 for the droid x is a 2.1 score. Iv gotten 1500 with froyo. No mods/fixes/oc ect..

I say that even the Fascinate performs overall better than the droid x or droid 2. The fascinate does have 2 gig of internal space

thats because the droid has froyo

i did the test on the original droid and got 866..idk what that means but its almost on par with the ones in the vid..what exactly does the benchmark prove?

Epic has TW 2.5 also a smaller internal memory. This makes the phone a bit quicker in the I/O department than the Fascinate.
