This video will show you two setups for crossing up most characters on wakeup with either EX Flying Barcelona Attack or the forward (launcher) Bloody High Claw ultra.

***This Just In****

I guess because of the adjustments to EX FBA, it can now crossup medium sized characters as well! Although it seems harder than the big guys, I was able to land it on Ryu (no luck on Blanka).

Here are the characters that I have personally confirmed can be crossed up by EX FBA:

Sagat
Balrog
T Hawk
Zangief
Dudley
Rufus
Hakan
Gouken
Ryu

-Haven't tested others, but probably most of the rest of the cast as well. If I ever get around to testing it, maybe I will just make a list of who CAN'T be crossed up.

-It could just be luck, but it seemed for me that Balrog, Dudley, Zangief, Sagat were easier than the others.

Cross Up BHC:

Sagat
T Hawk
Zangief (seems easiest, did it 3 times in a row)

-Again, these are just the characters I personally landed it on. There are probably others, but the BHC seems more strict and I honestly don't have the patience to test it on the entire cast. Timing seems to slightly vary from character to character.

Timing is very strict, I usually only land the crossup 1/5 times or so. Because it isn't completely reliable, I only reccomend using the EX FBA because you can steer away safely or go for the follow up claw/Izuna drop if it is blocked. Going for the Ultra can result in losing your meter and/or getting punished if you don't crossup.

After Izuna Drop:

-Hold down-back after landing
-As soon as you see Vega crouch, immediately whiff a crouching fierce punch (cr fp is only a rough guide to filling the timing, it is not exact).
-As cr fp recovers, immediately input Ultra or EX FBA

After Slide:

-Hold down-back after cr rh
-Whiff a crouching strong punch* (cr mp is only a rough guide to filling the timing, it is not exact).
-Slightly after cr mp recovers, input Ultra or EX FBA

* I was also able to use cr mk, 2x cr jab, and even no normal at all once I got the timing down. Experiment with filler normals and see what works best for you.

The distance that you land the slide will also affect the timing.

I would say the Izuna drop setup is much more reliable. I would use it in a match for sure, since you don't lose much by trying the EX FBA. You might even catch someone jumping or walking fwd on wakeup. Thanks for watching!

It gives you a visual indication (albeit often a rough one) of when to do your next attack. Be it a safe jump setup or (as seen here) an unexpected cross up, if there's a gap between executing your last attack and your next one, you can fill that time with an attack which takes about as long for you to recover from as the period of time where you must stay still, just to have an indication of when to do your next attack without it whiffing or even worse. It's easier than timing it manually.

thanks for posting this great vid and other vids for vega, ive learnt a lot. after i land the izuna drop i whiff a cr fp then I do an ex fba vega just goes through him, and if i delay a split of a second sagat blocks my ex fba. is sagat(dummy) in your vid on (no block option) or auto block option? thanks.

Oh so you're making the dummy hold back to block... wow I'm dumb. Now I can practice these cross-ups, awesome! (I'm a Vega player)

Does this work on the original SF4? Thats all i play

I've been using the crossup aspect of U1 a lot. It's really fun. However, you can't do it immediately after certain knockdown setups on Sagat, Adon, Blanka, Dhalsim, and Vega because they get up slightly later. Not to say it's impossible, just needs different timing. Any untechable knockdown is game for nasty U1_^)

Cool, I appreciate the input! When I get the time I'll do some testing on Makoto in the training room and update the info.

Hah still commenting on this video... but I haven't been able to get Makoto either. The way she stands has her back lowered so I haven't been able to get it to work on her.

wow vega and guile's moves are HARD!

Slight correction I need to make. If you land a sweep and get real close, wait a split second and jump off your wall you can cross up your opponent. Do it later and it will only work as a crouching crossup.
  15. Toomnyusernae, at 11/13/2010 17:57, says:
I didn't know about the knee crossing up. That's real something. His downforward+roundhouse to sweep is a pretty reliable way to land yourself in a good position. If you time it well and jump off your own wall you can cross them up with the bloody high claw too_^)

This is Super SF4, if you do Ultra 1 towards the forward wall, the knee will launch them and juggle. There was no knee launch in original SF4.

how did u knee him into the ultra on the first cross up? do u have to be at a certain spot ?
  18. arashikageclan, at 11/02/2010 01:41, says:
No problem, you're very welcome. Yeah I usually time it just a tad too early, but it's pretty cool when I get it multiple times in a row on someone. I usually don't do U1 because I'm on a pad (for some reason it doesn't take the input very well, maybe it's just me :P) and the timing is pretty strict. I haven't seen anyone yet who has blocked the cross up yet, but that may be due to my inconsistency with it. I'll agree it seems to work on most of the cast.
  19. DeuyDeuy, at 10/26/2010 00:14, says:
Thanks for the info! I stopped testing after about 10 characters, but I'm thinking it works on almost the whole cast. The only character that I really tried and had no luck on was Blanka. I still don't reccomend wasting U1 on this unless you learn to be extremely reliable with it. I probably successfully crossup with the EX about 1/3 tries now.

Further update, just did this on live to a Cammy, so it would seem the smaller characters have a good chance to be hit too. I had to watch the replay just to make sure haha, but I did cross her up with EX FBA, although it dizzied her lol
  22. arashikageclan, at 10/24/2010 02:50, says:
It would seem to me that this is less risky the more practice you get with it, not to mention you really are in control if you have already gotten someone down with either the Izuna or Slide. Not sure if this is still updated, but this works on Juri as well. I couldn't get the Ultra to connect though I did see it get blocked in kind of the cross up hit area with the cp on neutral auto block. Now to add it into my online play hehe

i really need to add this to my arsenal...
  24. DeuyDeuy, at 08/05/2010 02:44, says:
Did you actually cross them up correctly? I don't see how this "won't work", it either crosses them up or it doesn't. If you can do it reliably then it's pretty much a 50/50 guessing game regardless of how good your opponent is.

This won't work against top-player gameplay, I tried doing this on Combofiend and Gootecks.
