i suggest kobo vox :) its about $12.00 more expensive than the vox and is more like a tablet/ereader...it all depends on if you want the back light or if you prefer it to be eink :) and also battery life...the touch can last for maybe a month but the vox will only last for 7 hours due to the android operating system :)

Here in Canada, you can't borrow books on a kindle.

You can borrow library books on a kindle too and I've worked with both, would say the opposite that the kindle feels sturdier than the kobo. My kindle doesn't scratch either and I've dropped it as well. No scratches after 2 years.

Kindle looks sharper and higher contrast. Is that a correct statement?

Bought a Kobo Touch in December, regret it.Woeful organizing capacity lets it down,no bookshelves, folders, tagging means you just have a massive list of names. It also uses metadata which means you have to rename all your pdfs.Only keep 40 books on it at a time now.Big disappointment.

It would be good if I could introduce you folks to an adventure story that involves time travel. It is intended for any folks who are young at heart. My Kindle book entitled: Fourteen "Dusty Miller Drive" is a story set in Florida in the year 2015. It is newly uploaded to Amazon.com. You can search for: Fourteen-Dusty-Miller-Drive on the amazon.com Web site. Thanks and rgds. Eugene

I have a Kobo touch and it is brilliant. I'd recommend the touch above the Kindle due to more places to buy books and ability to borrow elibrary books.

Why The Kobo is actually better. You're not forced to use the Kobo book store like you are forced to only use Amazon books on the Kindle, you can read .epub file books from any store and open pdf, rtf and txt files. A new update brought 7 new fonts into the mixture so there are nine now. It is smaller, more robust and user friendly with regular updates (games, apps, etc:). The kindle is nice but I know which one I'm getting...
