After almost two years away from their family and from each other after Hurricane Katrina and a protracted "custody dispute", Master Tank and Nila are reunited and home, and they sure do look happy about it!

Who says a dog would not remember his family after such a long time--wrong!

See also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIm90vIS0Co for a film of Nila with the third family dog, from whom they were also separated and are now reunited with.

Why wouldn't you send a personal message to the owners rather than try to embarras them on line? They look like happy dogs that are loved & love back.

I was one of the people who took care of this dog tank at Camp Lucky. I just want you to know that I personally clipped this dogs dewclaws that were so long they were grown in to the pads of his paws and they were infected. As a veterinary technician, I know that did NOT happen in one week. This guy can't even clip his dogs toenails, which is basic care of an animal. I sure hope he does better now that he has his dog back.

You know the gist of it, this link doesn't work even though I replaced the dot's, and Anita has cut quite a bit out of her blog, but the problem still exists, and I've been approached by the owner again to pursue where I left off. So I'm back on the case. Will post on nola dot com when more is known. I'm keeping up with the blogs there

Thanks for your kind words. Would you like to post some more information here about your dog Nahnook, if so, feel free.

I am so thrilled for the family, their persistence paid off, & they have their furbabies back. If only Nahnook, the Siberian, would be returned home to Maria & her family, we would have another happy reunion video to post here. Elizabeth & Roland, we are still waiting to get that cheek swab with a small brush to prove Nahnook's parentage. Only $40 from AKC, the registry that has her sire's DNA on file. Give her back to her owners of 5 yrs! We will not give up until Nahnook is returned, intact.

I'm so happy for the family! They've been through so much already, it's a shame that they had to fight so long and hard for this. Congrats, D! ~ Rhonda

So true. And the photo that was taken of the St. Bernard (Tank)curled up next to the five-year-old boy is priceless. Tank on his Spiderman bed, and the boy with his Batman quilt! Apparently Tank likes to sleep with the two kids, he spends time with one and then goes and visits the other. It's unconscionable that people kept this family apart for going on two years.
