mate you are being very irrational, if your dog lived for 20 years that is a very long time of course surgery will be expensive as basically most of its organs and body systems are shutting down, dogs do not live to be 100 on average they like to about 12-14 years depending on size, if you cannot afford treatments euthanasia is the only option as it will be suffering basically everyday. I feel sorry that you can't afford your animal's treatment but this is the real world.

To be brutally serious and honests vets do not get paid well at all for the amount of years and education they go through to get there, if we charge like $50 for barbituates we won't be making a profit for ourselves we are people too and we need money just like you to live. Also we are providing a professional service, its like calling a plumber they charge $70 just to go there also if we devalue our service we are just devaluing ourselves as professionals, we are not used car salesmen.

nonsense, I simply disagree with the associated cost. I paid my fair share of dollars and tears. Your assumptions are not appreciated.

I had my pet, Zack, put to sleep in December. I stayed and held him as he was given the primary injection. I prepared his remains and dug his grave. You do not know the level of love, dedication and sacrifice I gave. That being said, you can take your condescending paragraph and shove it up your ass sideways.

    Owning a pet is a luxury-not a right

So you would rather let your pet die a very slow and painful cruel death than doing it peacefully? I had some owners who tried to "self" euthanize there pets and it was shooting blood out both ends, screaming, and flailing. Yes it's cheap for you, but cruel for your baby. But the important part is you saved $20.

It seems like the more wealthy people are, the more greedy and short-sighted they become. I can't afford vet treatment for my sick cat, but I can't blame the vet. There are some things I disagree with, like a shot of barbiturates costing $60-$80 to have a pet euthanized. I'd just as soon go find some street dealer selling illegal phenobarbital and do it myself.

"If you can't afford a pet, don't have one" What about someone who gets a pet as a child, and it lives for 20-years? That's my case. I got my pet when I was 6 years old, I am now 27 and cannot afford to have treatment for him. I can choose to pay my portion of the mortgage, or pay for veterinary treatment. I *literally* do not have enough money for both. Should I have thought about my finances at 27 when I was 6?

And if the child was doing something RECKLESS with the dog and injured it, then YES it's her fault and the "owner's" fault too.

Silly silly troll boy who's never paid a bill in his life. If you signed a "consent to treat" then you're agreeing to whatever they bill they wheel out. Don't like it? Don't sign. If you can't afford a pet, don't have one. And he didn't get a chance to tell her ANYTHING because she was acting like she was auditioning for the climax of a Tyler Perry movie. And of course you, like so many inadequate yuppies who feel the need to "punish" others by suing: prepare to be laughed out of court.

Does anyone know if clients are like this in poor AND wealthy neighborhoods?
  23. RatongaBruiser, at 05/09/2012 22:56, says:
You're right, even small pets like rats and lizards can cost a lot if you are a good owner. It's crazy how people think it is nothing until they get them. :(

What's even funnier is so many people are actually like this
