The Air Canada Centre can switch from NHL ice to NBA hardwood in as little as 8 hours. We've compressed it to 3 mins.

With my correct use of the semi-colon, I'd say so. Every arena is different. The sooner you realize that this happens, very successfully I might add, in a lot of places, the sooner you'll take a step off your high horse. When it's converted to an NBA court, it's an NBA court. It's YOUR NBA court. It doesn't matter what's under the floor or what adaptations are made. Also, Toronto's biggest money maker in sports are the Toronto Maple Leafs. It would be weird for them not to cater to them a bit.

Alright, so we'll just put the ice on top of your flooring; we'll see how it holds up.

How is the ice coming out in squares? Do they put the squares down and run over it with the Zamboni before games or...?

Amazing stuff! How many times do they have to transform this from basketball to icehockey and back? These season schedules run during the same months, right?

It's way cheaper to modify a stadium than to buy an entirely new piece of land and build a new stadium. Plus stadium owners make a hell of a lot more money having one venue for multiple events than trying to compete with other venues.

8 hours?? wtf? the Boston Garden crew does it in 3 hours. better shape up, Toronto!
