The front camera in iPad 2 can be used for so many things, including 3D. This demonstrates Jeremie Francone and Laurence Nigay from EHCI Research Group.

Impressive without 3D glasses
By building the 3D technology around the front camera on the iPad created a very impressive 3D effect with the simple 3D demo appene.

The technology is that the front camera tracks the user's head, thus making a 3-D effect without the need for 3D glasses.

Even more impressive is it when we know that this is achieved without the use of the iPad accelerometer.

We will probably see far more of this in the coming years, including in consumer products. Nintendo has already done it.

The problem now is that iPad must be in motion to provide the 3D effect.
