This is Amazon's newest 6" eReader and it features a high contrast Pearl e-Ink display that's much more readable under low light. The 3rd gen Kindle is also significantly smaller and lighter than the Kindle 2. It now has a web-kit web browser, improved PDF handling and it's available in two version: one with WiFi and one with WiFi + 3G. We compare it with B&N nook, the kobo reader and the Kindle DX Graphite.

Kindle just refused to replace our 3rd Kindle 3, all had the exact same issue. The manager was extremely rude I talked to, and offered to replace with a refurbished unit for $10 less than a new one. I will no longer use Kindle's, I am going to purchase the NOOK Simple Touch™ with GlowLight™ instead. Screw you amazon and your shitty customer service!

@TheKomentor ... An ebook reader makes sense if you're an avid reader...its background makes it easier on the eyes for hours of reading since it's without glare and it can store thousands of books...not the same from a smaller smartphone screen or glare filled tablet.

If you contrast all the devices you'll see that ereaders are easier to read. I don't have much money but i bought a kindle in 2010 and it's incredible. I've used friends tablets for reading and they just do not compare to the ereader.
