    Gotta admit, I was a little disappointed when I found out David Bowie couldn't actually contact juggle. Then again...the fact that they used the art in this movie still makes my day. :D

    They are made of acrylic. Much tougher, doesn't easily crack. However, as you can see in the video, he has a whole box of balls. So incase one does crack, or gets dropped too much that it has lots of marks on it, he can use another new one.

    I know contact juggling is usually done with glass spheres, but how could they have used glass when they shot this movie? Wouldn't it crack or shatter when the juggler messed up?

    those aren't Fushigi balls, those are just plane glass balls and he is contact juggling, the only purpose the balls serve is being a glass ball.
