PhoneArena previews the LG Optimus Black. We heard about the LG Optimus Black for the first time back in December of last year. At the CES 2011 show LG finally lifted the veil over the phone, giving it the name LG Optimus Black, and also christened the screen technology -- NOVA display. Now we have a prototype of this incredibly thin and light Android phone with what LG claims to be the brightest mobile display out there...

Battery duration is good, excellent if you don't use or wifi or data connection for internet. As well about gps. But theese are for all android mobile, iphone too. Good duration if you use apps too. Things are furtherly better with the new 2.3 version of android.

When I was using the black, I always kept the brightness to maximum and screen's battery usage was %15-20 tops..now with my galaxy s 2, I also set the brightness to maximum but when I check the battery usage, screen eats at least %50-65 of the battery..Think about it :( If LG could made better sw and support for their devices, I wouldn't sell my optimus black.. :( Yes Galaxy S 2's HW and also SW are nearly perfect and honestly I haven't had any crashes yet..But sometimes screen is everything..

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S II right now and honestly I can say its screen is not perfect as optimus black's screen..I mean yes the contrast is infinity (blacks are really black as like there is nothing on the screen), the viewing angles are extremely high and colors look fantastic..But a little bit oversaturated, not very natural and brightness is nearly half of the black's screen so sunlight legibility is not so good...And the most important thing is the effect of the screen to the battery life

Let me tell u my user experiences; Optimus Black screen has incredibly natural but also punchy colors and the viewing angles and also contrast ratio are perfect too (for a lcd display)..Brightness is ultra high, actually higher than 700 nits..(it came out actual brightness is 749 nits on white) and believe me this is really useful under direct sunlight or watching videos anytime..Everything looks perfect on this ips panel, colors look more realistic..
