Having said that, and as a long-time guitarist, Mick Taylor has a tremendous gift. So didn't Hendrix. I have never understood the hype of Eric Clapton. To my ear, he is suitable. I do not hear the same MAGIC coming out of the speaker when Clapton plays, as opposed to Taylor, Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Peter Green...etc. Mick Taylor is GOLD.

Mick Taylor was NOT given song writing credits. He thought the band was too into themselves, and not a drug taker when he joined, was a heroin addict when he left the band. He was cut out of of the bands Royalties in 1982..... Plus all of the lead guitar you hear from 69 to 74 is usually him.. He played with other artists, Jack Bruce and did some solo stuff, the Stones have never been as good since he left.... It is just a fact.
