"You look tired..." "I am..." So much meaning!!! Nate went through so much in his life.

I remember the episode in which Nate had his first surgery at his head and i really thought he would die. Now he's really dead, and i could not believe it... Wow such a great show, and a great end.

Actually, they're sharing the dream. It starts out as Nate's dream and ends with David.

You sound like a vicious feminazi. I'm guessing you've been a bitch to at least one guy and he cheated on you.

"What's with the grip man?" "Where's your suit? "So fkn weird,I had this whole other idea of you, thought you were this completely other person" In other words,in another life... "standin' at the station..."

I've been watching this show since season 1...and never really understood this scene. Thanks for the breakdown--it completely makes sense :)

I know that David was asleep but atleast he was by his brothers side when he passed, he didnt die alone.

I agree, mostly. I think this is both their dreams overlapping. Remember how the episode is called ''Ecotone'', the place where two biomes overlap. I think from the moment the darker light appears, with David in his suit, David's dream starts. Before that is all Nate's dream I think.

Best show on the human experience. This personally represents what I've always thought, Death is not to be feared but that they save the best for last. Like being born. Anyway, this scene resonated in my heart in such a big way !

you realize tht nate would have never had this AVM brain condition and died if t werent for brenda fighting with him in the car that one day? when he swerved off the road, the blunt skull trauma caused this fatal condtion. i never liked brenda and this is the main reason why. I MISS YOU NATE!

Beautifully done death. It just shows that inspite of all his fears through out the series Nate embraces what's coming to him.

In the hallucination, am I the only one who think of Shaggy when I see Dave? :D

I've never seen a show like Six Feet Under that tangles my emotions more about a subject like death

Good observation. Also, I noticed that this last season used birds a couple times in the last season. The white dove at Nate and Brenda's wedding picking at their wedding cake, and the bird that Nate killed at his birthday party. I took the dove as being Lisa -- unwanted and unwelcome, and the intruding bird in Nate's house was sort of a foreshadowing of his death. The birds taking that final plunge into the ocean was a great effect, although I'm not sure if the producers were being deliberate.

There is a reference to Castaneda in the Sopranos. Dr. Melfi mentiones him and Tony thinks he's some latino boxer lol

Also, when Nate says "that's why we came here" he could be talking about that they born to face problems and their own emotional bullshit, Nate always had this kind of illuminated. But, in this part is when I realise that your analysis is more consistent than mine. (it was to long for 1 post, sorry ^^)
