That could very well be true, but fact is that we don't really know. I just think people shouldn't believe everything they read in magazines, wether it is good or bad. It could also be that Mick Taylor eventually regretted his decision to leave the Stones and needed the money so he told that story to the papers... I'm not saying that's what happend, but it could be one version of the truth.

Really good version, but I'm not sure it's better than Brussels '73 (First Show) or Philadelphia '72.

But his claims in interviews many times over the years that they did "rip him off" is what started those stories though. If he changed his story in a recent interview it was likely because he was about to go back on tour with them.

I am reading Keiths book "Life" just now and actually just finished the part were he tells of writing "Gimme Shelter" during a thunder storm at an associates house after finding out Jagger has been screwing his then girlfriend Anita Pallenberg. No mention of Mick Taylor yet but will be interesting to see how he recalls those times. Great read so far

The Stones golden years were with Mick Taylor ! Ron " sloppy " Woods couldn't string Taylor's guitar ! Taylor joined one of the hottest rock acts at the age of 20 years old and some of the Stones criticized him for not moving around the stage well put yourself in a 20 years old shoes , intimidated , nervous ? His licks , his solo's , he was the best musician the Stones ever had. If you really know about music you would agree if you don't jeep listening to Justin Beaver !

Obviously you like the B. Jones, "Satisfaction", "Mother's Little Helper" Stones; while I like that era I prefer the M. Taylor, "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'", "Tumblin' Dice" version. Taste is subjective. You're right about comparing guitarists as they all have SOMETHING to distinguish themselves. As always, only my opinion.

The Rolling Stones are the ones with Brian J., Mick Taylor is overrated, in fact released by the Rolling Stones was pulverized!

Are you shitting me? Ronnie Wood is a fucking hack w/o an ounce of originality. As per my previous post, this is the best lineup they ever had. You could pluck someone leaving their guitar lesson and plug him in in place of Wood and no-one would know the diffference (as long as the guitar student looked like a drunk old woman). Of course this is my opinion and counts for nothing...

Mick Taylor is a great guitarist but has nothing to do with the Stones, the Stones sound is not this, but the one with Brian J. and then Ronnie Wood, where the guitar solo is rhythmic blend, this is the characteristic of the Stones, Taylor has become especially live concerts the Stones as any band! Do not ever compare guitarists as each has its own characteristics, but R. Wood is the most similar to Brian guitar style as well as a musician.

Wow...No wonder Keef was jealous of Mick Taylor. They ran off the best musician they ever had and replaced him with Ronnie Wood. I've never heard Wood do anything impressive in his entire career, plus he looks like your drunken old Aunt. Wood is not fit to tune Taylor's guitar, much less fill his shoes.

Mick Taylor was the man . About skill guitar , if you compare Taylor and Richards it's like compare Zidane with a chinese football team player ! Keith is nothing compare to taylor . But keith wrote most of the songs and found his magic open tunning chords for hits like start me up , honky tonk , brown sugar . We have to admit it . Anyway without Taylor they became a good band but nothing special . Ron wood is a junkie nothing more lol

rockonallnight: I'd say, my impression is, it's exactly the other way around. They no longer seem to be able to write good songs, but from what I've heard they're scorching as a live band.

Yeah, Mick Taylor was the best thing that happened to them, the worst being Brian drowning

Mick taylor was like the rocket ship and he blasted them into super stardom . Ron wood could not even tie mick's fin shoes please who agrees's

It's stoopid how good Taylor was....
  16. PinkXSpiderXx, at 02/12/2013 19:04, says:
This story is not false. Mick Taylor himself said in an interview recently that the other Stones never ripped him off or anything and he remains good friends with them till today.
  17. PinkXSpiderXx, at 02/12/2013 19:09, says:
Mick Taylor himself has said this is not true. Please stop confusing people.

No, that's bullshit. If he was, he'd have done it LONG before now

haha suing a huge enterprise like the Rolling Stones would be a huge mistake, especially since Mick Taylor isn't credited on any of the songs he says he wrote, although I have no doubt he was influential in the writing and recording of much of their stuff from 69 - 74/5. It was exactly the same with Ronnie Wood. He was only made a full member of the band in the mid/late 80's. Prior to that he was just an employee like Daryl Jones is now.

you dont know shit about his rights, what hed signed... if you got to be ignorant, better be quiet!

Is he really going to take mick & Keith to court?

The Stones with Ron Wood have become nothing more than a glorified bar band imo. Jagger and Richards are still capable of writing solid songs that are full of energy in the studio, like 'Doom and Gloom', but they've completely lost it as far as performing live goes.
  24. Greg Carr, at 01/24/2013 03:41, says:
Mick Taylor was great with the Stones but accomplished nothing with his solo career. Both Mick and KR have had successful solo albums and they put out plentyof great songs with Brian and Woody. Mick and KR deserve all the money they get and they don't complain about all the bootlegging of the Stones material. The two new songs of Grrrrr sound great.
