    Sorry for the delayed response, the TV is 3d with a 2d source in this particular video although the ps3 is capable of broadcasting 3d content we are using 2d content for this particular demonstration. However a 3d source with a 2d TV is also an option with this converter, utilizing the red/cyan effects rather or not your source is 2d or 3d.
