mick taylor, Nicky Hopkins, Mick jaggers stage presence and smaller arenas MADE the stones in the early 70's what they were which is unmatched. and if Mick taylor hadnt have left when he did he wouldve been dead from drugs...its sometimes about self preservation over fame and fortune which is fleeting. But yes I agree the stones are greedy and very smug and have not treated him well since he left, and it shows; ive lost all respect for them...time waits for no one but truth is finally seen

Okay, now I can agree with most, if not all of that.

Of course the Stones were great with Jones, no doubt about it. They were part of the Holy Trinity with The Beatles and The Who. What I am saying is that Taylor added something so special to their sound. It can surely be no coincidence that their greatest work (especially live) was with Taylor. As for listening to my rock history, well, I am a child of the sixties who grew up on a diet of all this stuff. It was the backdrop to my life. Regards.

You are kidding, right? If the Stones had stopped recording after Brian Jones left the group they'd still be considered one of the greatest acts of all time. Please, read (or listen) to your rock history.

It was Taylor who turned the Stones immortal with his sublime, inspirational, beautiful and improvisational playing. To say that the Stones improved Taylor is a travesty of what happened. The Stones were so fortunate to get this genius just as he was about to peak. Their subsequent treatment of him was truly shameful.

This is beautiful but it lacks the snap of the Stones version. I'm heading out of here to play the real song "Winter".

Mick should have stayed with the Stones. He was "under rated" before he joined the Stones and now he is "under rated" after he left the Stones. The only time his great talent rose to the the top was when he was with the Stones. Why? Because the Stones are that damned good.

Mick Taylor is a legend for those that have ears .. He was the element that put the "est" in the greatest of all Stones music.

MT is the most under-rated guitar player in rock since the 70s. Nobody is better and yet he's all but forgotten even though he still plays regularly and is always working new stuff, something most of his contemporaries have either stopped doing or they just rework their old songs. Stones sure have been mediocre since he left.
