Such an amazing show. I have some season segments on DVD; but if I start to watch them again, I'll never stop!

Any chance this show will be brought to Bluray? Sadly, this show wrapped up after the bluray hit the market. Yet HBO re-released The Sopranons on the bluray format?

Such a nice callback to season 1 where David comes out to Ruth. This show's loaded with so much symbolism and amazing symmetry to the writing. I love how in season 1 Ruth contemplates what outfit of her late husband to keep, and then in the final episode, she's doing the very same thing with her wardrobe. Such talented writers. A modern day televised novel.

This scene is so freaking moving. Nate becomes a child again in the face of his illness and Ruth hugs him with all her love. Wow... That's so damn beautiful! SFU was such a powerful show :')

Do you happen to have the previous scene where she tells the 3 of them what they are going to do. I love that scene.

I totally agree with pmsan29, exactly how I feel about it. Actors and directors were brilliant : so real, no music, no overacting, just them.

this show was so true to life, nothing on television before or after has captured that kind of realism.

This show was about truth, not life or death. Bad things happen in real life, and bad things happened on the show.

When her voice goes soft and she gives his arm that little touch, who wouldn't break down?

But Josh - this show was about life more than death. We don't always have that "chance".

And nothing ever will. I don't think I ever thought a TV show could change my life. After watching episodes it would sometimes make me call a family member or a friend afterwards just to say hi. I also don't burn bridges anymore knowing that at anytime someone I love could be gone.....

Thats the one and only thing I didn't like about the show. I hated how the writers didn't give Ruth a chance to say goodbye to Nate. She never did anything for herself and the one time she decided to take a vacation and cut herself off for a couple of days from everyone Nate dies. I couldn't stand that! It was so wrong to not let Ruth have that closure.

Six Feet Under has been the most amazing TV show ever! This scene is wonderful, first Ruth is breaking down and very vulnerable while Nate attempts to portray a seemingly unaffected exterior showing his mother that he is strong and she need not worry. Then as soon as that breaks, Ruth immediately becomes the protector and strong one cradling her son in every way she would have done had he been still a child. Dramatic genius!

Frances Conroy is unbelievable. I would love more than anything to hug that woman.

im sorry to say but there's no life (in TV) after SFU. this raised the bar so high that you wouldn't bother watching anything else. i tried House just to have a closure with SFU but it didn't make it. nothing comes close to SFU.fact.period.

yeah you're right and... have you noticed that in the series finale rRuth and Claire have a scene that ends almost exactly the same??
  25. knockturne, at 09/03/2007 04:12, says:
*season 5 spoilers* What makes Nate/Ruth scenes like this all the more heartbreaking was the last time the two even saw each other was the night before Fiona's funeral. They didn't get any formal goodbye like this one could have potentially been.
