That's actually one of my favourite parts of the film, the whole lead up to entering the ship, and yes totally agree, the grainy shakey visuals are much more affecting and 'realistic' than a crystal clear HD scan over the ship would ever be. Really cool to hear him talk about that. When you hear people like Ridley speak you know they masters of what they do.

One of the many great things about this movie was that obviously you know it's about an alien life form, and when you see the face hugger and its on his face, you just assume that that's THE alien. When it falls off dead you just assume it's not really dead and it's gonna come back at some point and attack everyone.... Then "that scene" happens and.....wow. It's almost a shame everyone is so aware of that scene now, it lessens the surprise that people who saw it when it first came out had.
