Android Tutorial & Lessons 1: Installing Eclipse and SDKs

Check out the discussion for this lesson in my forum:
http://www.cornboyz.com/index.php?topic=4.msg4#msg4

Eclipse Download Link: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/
Android SDK download: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Android ADT Link: http://developer.android.com/sdk/eclipse-adt.html

What's up my peepz? (who says peepz anymore?) This lesson will get you up and running, and even if you are an absolute beginner, you can do it. Please subscribe and thumbs up the video and you will be a pro in no time

In this lesson you will learn:
-XML, the Easy way, using the Graphical Layout
-Installing Eclipse
-Set up the link to the ADT
-Setting up the SDK and different android platforms
-Setting up the AVD

This video is the first in a web series that I am creating to help you learn Android programming so you can create apps and eventually how to learn to write games for android phones. I want to explain things in a way that everyone can understand, even if you have no experience with Java, XML, C, OpenGL, or as a matter of fact, any other programming language.

If you do have a lot of experience with programming, these first videos will be really slow for you, but my goal is to get everyone sprinting, but for now we have learn to crawl.

Just as a heads up for new people...with regards to Eclipse, I have found that the Tutorial from Travis is excellent. However, since Eclipse is under constant development (as I imagine Java itslef is as well)...that this video is just slightly (ever so slightly) out of date. What I mean is, that the Eclipse IDE now comes as one Bundle (one package) which is much easier to install. Also, I found that there are more files (folders) created during a project...but Travis covers the basics well.

Thanks a lot for this wonderful tutorial. If more people were as kind in showing others how technology works, I think the world would be filled with great Apps. I really enjoyed this first tutorial. I hope I have the time and the self-drive (motivation) to watch all your tutorials, and someday become an Android Developer myself.
